This position reports to the VP of Engineering and will be a member of the corporate engineering team. The successful candidate will have an impactful role in supporting the operational needs of Fortera’s demonstration plant. The internship will provide experience and first-hand insight of the challenges and rewards of designing/building/operating a first-of-its-kind scaled up process.
As a Marketing Coordinator at Fortera, you will support day-to-day marketing operations such as the scheduling and management of creative projects utilizing Fortera's internal creative team and outside agencies, communications, PR and social platforms strategy, event coordination, business campaigns, content creation, and special projects. You’ll research and report on Fortera business segments while developing written materials including blog posts, thought leadership, and social media content. You will drive key projects forward using project management and execution skills. This role reports to the VP of Marketing and is based out of our San Jose, CA HQ.
The Material Science Intern will have the opportunity to learn about new and innovative cementitious and other materials, their mutual interactions, and product characterization.
Material Science Intern will assist with laboratory efforts to prepare and analyze reactive materials formulations. The role will include performing standard tests related to cement, mortar, and concrete materials as well as their precursors. This individual will also have the opportunity to learn more about the fundamentals of material science by using characterization techniques such as XRD/XRF/SEM/Calorimetry, etc.
This position will be part of the Product Team within the R&D department.
The Process Chemistry Lab Intern will have the opportunity to learn about inorganic material synthesis, materials analysis, and cement chemistry.
The Process Chemistry Lab Intern will assist with laboratory efforts to run our lab scale production process. The role will include performing processes such as: solution preparation, oven/furnace operation, mineral dissolution, gas absorption, precipitation, solids dewatering, and drying.
This position will be part of the Process team within the R&D department.
The Product Lab Intern will have the opportunity to learn about new and innovative cementitious materials, materials analysis, and cement chemistry.
Product Lab Intern will assist with laboratory efforts to prepare and analyze cement-based formulations. The role will include performing ASTM standards as related to cement, mortar, and concrete materials. This individual will also have the opportunity to learn more about the fundamentals of materials by using characterization techniques such as XRD/XRF/SEM/Calorimetry, etc.
This position will be part of the Product Team within the R&D department.
Under the direction of the SVP of Project Execution, you will track and report on project scheduling, budgeting, and scope control. The projects control analyst will own establishing the project budget and cost forecasting, project schedules and project risk management and scope control.
Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Capital Project Execution, the Project Coordinator role is critical to the successful execution of all our projects, from the project and site development phase through design and construction of Fortera’s ReCarb Plants.
The Senior Materials Handling Engineer will lead engineering efforts for the successful design and operation of all Fortera bulk material handling processes: flow rates, storage capacity, integration with product lines, mineral grinding, kiln operation/calcination, mineral dissolution, gas absorption, precipitation, solids dewatering, and drying.
This is a hands-on role requiring a driven, experienced mechanical, chemical, or industrial engineer who would be able to own and drive design decision points with respect to process set up and equipment selection such as belt conveyors, bucket elevators, screw conveyors, blenders, mixers, silos and hoppers.
The Senior Process Engineer will lead engineering support for successful design and operation of all Fortera processes: mineral grinding, kiln operation/calcination, mineral dissolution, gas absorption, precipitation, solids dewatering, and drying.
This is a hands-on role requiring a driven, experienced mechanical or chemical engineer who would be versatile enough to bridge the gap between R&D and outside engineering firms.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Scientist with specialized knowledge in wet chemistry for calcium carbonate materials. As a senior member of our R&D team, you will be responsible for leading and conducting research, development, and optimization of the wet chemistry process to produce calcium carbonate materials. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to optimize existing processes, drive innovation, develop new methodologies, and ensure efficient and cost-effective production.
